How do I create a folder that when clicked on will show a dropdown menu of the contents of the folde

You dont. Javascript was not meant, designed or constructed, for this 
sort of thing. Javascripts developers, Netscape, felt that user 
security, in both mind and computer, was to be a major feature of their 
product, so this sort of capability was avoided. 
A good thing to, I certainly get uncomfortable with the very idea of 
someone looking at my hard drive, but that may be my paranoia more than 
a genuine desire to maintain my privacy and anonymity, but then, even 
paranoids have enemies.
