My access_log file has many entries that are from another site to another site. I don't know why.

I'm going to show you a typical access log line:
17.16.1.1 - - [27/Dec/2001:15:42:44 -0700] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 3168
If you're seeing something like that, then what you're seeing is 
normal.  If you really do see something with 2 domains in it, perhaps 
like this:
www.othersite.com: 172.16.1.113 - - [27/Dec/2001:15:42:44 -0700] (etc.)
...then you are part of a shared server using a common log for multiple 
virtual sites.  In other words, the server hosts multiple Web sites, 
and logs the hits for all the sites into a single file.  The company 
you're paying to host your Web site should fix this for you, but if 
they won't, you can just use grep to get only your stuff:
grep "mysite.com" access.log | more
