I'm new in php. Is there a way to create printable reports using php??

By "printable reports" I'm assuming you're referring to a document 
(such as MS word) vs a HTML page? 
If that is the case, yes! PHP Supports PDF generation as well as COM 
(if php is running on a windows machine) and it is possible to edit or generate word, excel etc. documents.
Com documentation is hard to find on the web. Look for VBA examples, the DOM used by VBA is the most helpful starting point.
Refer to http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.com.php for the PHP implementation of COM. 
As far as PDF goes, http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.pdf.php should get 
you started.
