How can I display a pop up image by clicking a link?

I think this should work for you 
<a href="somepage.com"
onClick="window.open('brickbg.gif','mywindow','width=200,height=200'); return false">click this link</a>
just change the name of the gif/jpg you want to display and also change the width/height so that it is the same size as the image.
