How to get notified when the mail was read by the recipient?

Anyone correct me if I am wrong, but there is nothing currently built 
in js to do this.
You would have to build a custom script.  Possibly using a cookie to 
set a value such as read="true" then the user will have to submit it 
back to the originator throu a form or dialog box.
