How do i set Session("x")= optionvalue when a value is selected from listbox

It sounds like you want to activate the session immediately after 
selecting a certain value from the select-box. In that case you should 
handle it client-sided (for example by using JavaScript). Otherwise you 
should post the form and then call code like this:
<%
Session("x") = trim(request.form("selectionboxname"))
%>
