What is djbdns FOR? (It replaces Bind - but who uses Bind, and for what? Should I be reading this?)

Brian Coogan, Joe Grant,

djbdns is a Domain Name Server. It takes fully qualified host names
(such as www.managesoft.com) and converts them into IP Addresses so
people can find your hosts. It is used directly and indirectly by
things such as WWW browsers, ftp, email, in short anything that needs
to look up domain names and convert them to IP addresses to communicate
with them.
See the FAQTS entry for more information: "What is djbdns?"
If you don't know what DNS is, you shouldn't be reading this :)
