How do I pass a value when I click on a button in IFrame to the parent html?

I suppose there is some reason for using an IFRAME, but would ordinary
frames be of greater flexibility? However, it is your design so do with
it as you will. 
You can send the value of the variable from the IFRAME to the parent, try: 
              var parentVar = parent.iframeName.iframeVar;
