Q: May i know the short comings of MySQL over MSSQL.

Depending on what you want to use the database for, and your background,
the answer to this is different.
For me, as a programmer, the main problems are primarily the lack of
support for Triggers, Views and Stored Procedures - although these are
gradually being introduced in the latest releases.
MySQL 5.0.0-alpha supports Stored Procedures (although not Triggers or
Views, AFAIK), but is far from useable - it is a developmental
pre-release of sorts.
