*how do u you pass a variable(multiple select) from a pop up window to the main window?

Ask yourself this question: Does it HAVE to be a real popup or will a 
layer do?
In the first case... There's no way to just 'JavaScript' your way out 
of this one. (There is, I just didn't know about it...

have to reload your main window one way or another. 
If the main window has a name, you can use TARGET (in <a 
href="mainwindow.php?foo=bar&var=value&etc=onemore" 
target="mainwindowname">) or the JavaScript window.open to open 
the 'new' page in the same window.
