how i can disable the editable property of text box

Jul 15th, 2003 02:36
Steven S, Manjunath Naik,

You can use the 'disabled' or 'readonly' properties
<input name="someField" value="Can't change me!" readonly>
<input name="someField" value="Can't change me!" disabled>
The differences are:
- Disabled works on all form elements, readonly only works on text-
based ones.
- Disabled doesn't submit the values, and readonly does.
These proprties you can change through code as well.
