how do i display just the first few lines of a long string, with a link to the rest, i.e. "more..."

To display omly the first 50 characters of a certain string, use the 
following code:

Response.Write LEFT(strVariable,50) & "... "
Response.Write "<A HREF=""ThePage.asp?id=" & TheID & """>" & vbCrLf
