Console reads "Apache 1.3.27 with PHP/4.2.3 running", but browser displays <?php......?>. Why?

This could most likely be due to an incorrect specification for your 
server root, or trying to access a script that is outside your server 
root. Note that server root and your local filing system root (ie "C:\" 
or "/") are two different things. Check out your Apache config file.
