Information on error codes is available at

You can download a Python script from 
ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sapdb/misc/sapdberr.py. This script allows a fast 
lookup of the error information.
The mailing list can be searched for error codes as well, but as the 
standard search engine doesn't index numbers, it is necessary to use 
Google instead. Example:
8003 site:listserv.sap.com
