Where can I download PHP5?
Jul 14th, 2004 19:57
Philip Olson,
You have a few options. First, keep in mind that PHP 5.0.0 has recently
been released (July 14, 2021) so it's not exactly well tested or even
stable. That said you can download them here:
http://www.php.net/downloads.php#v5
Also, snapshots are created every few hours and both Linux and Windows
versions can be downloaded from here:
http://snaps.php.net/
To get the latest PHP you can also get it straight from CVS, anonymous
access instructions to the PHP CVS tree are located here:
http://www.php.net/anoncvs.php
CVS quickref (username: cvsread password: phpfi):
cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository login
cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository checkout php-src
Windows users may also find the following PHP5 download source
interesting:

Older PHP 5 related notes:
- BETA 1 Windows binaries lack php_mysql.dll
- BETA 1 Windows module dll's have the same names as their PHP 4
counterparts, but uses php5_module to include the modules.
ex. LoadModule php5_module modules/php4apache.dll
