I've written an OnBlur event of a textbox. On closing the form the event should not be fired,how?

This is a problem I ran into once before and I do not think I found a
resolution to it. I am not sure why it was doing it, but obviously there
was something in the form that was not correct. I still have no idea how
the problem was resolved, it just stopped firing after I, essentially,
re-wrote the page. 
I am sorry that this is the best I can offer, hopefully someone else
will do better. At least I have kicked off the debate.
