How to resize a frame in frameset with Netscape 6.2
Apr 7th, 2008 23:26
ha mo, Colin Fraser, alan patrick,
I tried a number of different things and none of them worked. Then I
found something that suggested frames cannot resize themselves. However,
having said that, I then found in IE that you can use something like :
this.parent.rows="100,200,*";
in a function, but you have to find some mechanism to call the function
from within the frame, like a button.
<form>
<input type="button" onClick="this.parent.rows='100,200,*'"
value="Resize this frame">
</form>
However, it is unlikely this will work in Netscape.
Of course, if you want you can load a different set of frames using
something like:
<form>
<input type="button" onClick="top.location.href='frames.htm'" value="New
Window">
</form>
where frames.htm describes a different frameset.
I suspect that this may be your only viable option.
