When and why should I edit a question?

unknown unknown, Henrik Hansen,
You should edit a question if the question asked is not as clearly
written as it should be (not an obvious explanation of the problem) or
there are spelling mistakes.
If the question is ambiguous it is hard for members to answer the
question correctly and for those members browsing to find a specific
solution it might not be obvious that the question is related to what
they are searching for.
It's important that the spelling is correct, especially if the entry is
to be found through a search.
When it comes to editing answers the same rules apply. Correct spelling
and remove ambiguities. In addition it makes sense to edit an answer
when you can provide additional information and remove inaccurate
content.
Together we create the knowledge bases, if we want to ensure the
integrity of the content it's important that we follow these guidelines.
