How do i recompile PHP, Apache on RedHat Linux 9? I am trying to connect to SQL Server using freetds

First bring out necessary sources, decompress them and configure them 
using your old configuration after adding your tweaks.
I suggest to compile apache and php independently (i.e using mod_php 
instead of php binary). You can also use zend optimiser which speeds up 
your php scripts processing up to %40.
