Enterprise Java Beans.
It is a part of J2EE (java enterprise edition) specification.
J2EE also contains other specs like JSP, Servlets etc
EJBs are middleware objects written in Java langauge and deployed in
application servers like JBoss, Weblogic, WebSphere etc.
The idea behind EJB is that developers and desginers are allowed to
concentrate on the explicit issues like the business solutions that they
want to provide while the more implicit issues like Transaction
Management, Security, Memory Management etc are handled by the
application servers, where the vendors are more equipped with providing
solutions to them.
