How can I perform an outer join with mySQL?

May 7th, 2000 19:40

Some more searching through mySQL's manual produced the following: +
A "full outer join" (not exactly sure what that is) is _not_ supported
but a "left outer join" is.
+ The query that I needed to do is a left join (as I got it to work).
+ The page in the mySQL manual that (most clearly) documents left joins
is surprisingly in the optimization section. The URL is:
http://www.mysql.com/Manual_chapter/manual_Performance.html#LEFT_JOIN_op
timization.
That's all I know... at the moment.
Hope this will prove informative to someone else,
