How can I escape refresh page (F5) in IE
Apr 7th, 2008 23:41
ha mo, Colin Fraser, Nikolay Hristov,
Essentially, you cannot. F5 is a function of the browser, so it, in
theory, cannot be interfered with. However, there are a couple of ways
to get around this. The first is to trap the function keys, and I do
not propose to go into that here. There are a number of methods
described elsewhere in the FAQTS database by myself and others already
that may be more useful.
The other method Ican think of right now is to trap the reload event
like:
<body onLoad="checkHistory()">
and the
function checkHistory()
if (history.previous==history.current) (
//do something
}
This should work.
Good luck.
