How to disable low disk space notifications in Windows XP?

May 8th, 2008 20:46
dman, i can do it, Hossam Hossny, Kalu Ral, http://sturly.com

Low disk space notifications can be very annoying (specially when your
hard disk is always low on space like me!). Fortunately, there is a
way
to disable them, please nore that this requires you to edit your
registry so dont forget to backup it first.
Here are the steps:
1- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2- Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Ex
p
lorer
3- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4- Type NoLowDiskSpaceChecks, and then press ENTER.
5- On the Edit menu, click Modify.
6- Type 1, and then click OK.
Now quit regedit, log off and log on again, and you are done. If you
decided later that you want this notification again, all you have to
do
is deleting the key in step 4.
