I know \t \n \r and a couple others that work with PHP, what is backspace? \b doesn't work.

Matthew Wilkinson, Daniel O,

I don't think backspace has an escape character, as it is inherently a
deletion key on keyboards. Escape characters are not meant to represent
every non-alphanumeric/symbol key on a keyboard, they are merely there
for entities that cannot be expressed as text. Backspace is not
something that can be represented, it just deletes.
