how to write an applet that collects user data such as name, phone number and send the information back to a server-side CGI program for processing

Gustavo De la Cruz Tovar, Peter Reuterås,

In order to use an applet with CGI you can java.net.URL
If you create an instance of this object, you can write information
to CGI.
Please be aware that you can send a CGI request only to the applethost,
that is, the applet and CGI must be in the same machine.

I think that your applet will not be difficult to write, only try
to separte UserInput from processing (CGI request)
