php will not read ".ini" file. have tried all the manual instructions(php5.0) help!!

It may be because you have another installation of PHP on your computer
or there is a php.ini file in any of this folders:
C:/
C:/Windows
C:/Windows/System32
Delete it if u find it there and it was not put there by the new PHP
installtion.
Another possible reason:
When installing Apache2.2 with PHP5,
make sure that the apache2.2 httpd.conf line:
# configure the path to php.ini
PHPIniDir "c:/php5"
matches the location of your php.ini file on your system.
