To always start a new ftp connection in say the right panel, you can do
the following:

Steps: Overview:
 1. -Select from menu option 'Configuration'
 2. -Select from list 'Options'
 3. -Select from list 'FTP'
 4. -Select from list 'Open New Connection'
     the option 'in the right panel'
     (similarly 'left', or 'active' panel
 5. -Click button 'OK'
