Windows Script Host or WSH is a Microsoft utility
offering command line programming of various Windows capabilities.

WSH runs several ActiveX scripting languages
1. VBScript
2. JScript
3. PerlScript

WSH is not a replacement of the MSDOS batch file programming,
but it goes far beyond the capabilities of traditional
batch file scripting by providing access to COM and ActiveX objects.

WSH gives the possibility to developers and system administrators to
write sophisticated batch files, runned from the command line, to
automate e.g. administrative or programming tasks on Microsoft Windows
computers.
