Does PowWeb support IMAP?

Aug 29th, 2005 08:38
Karl Fry,

PowWeb's mailservers do support IMAP protocol. IMAP allows you to
check your mail directly on the server, without downloading it to your
computer as POP protocol does.
You can either use IMAP in an email client like Outlook, or you can
use PowWeb's web-based email (which functions off of IMAP protocol) at
http://webmail.yourdomain.com - provided that your DNS is hosted with
PowWeb.
Note: Make sure to delete messages from your Inbox and issue a "Purge"
command within your email client regularly when using IMAP protocol,
or your inbox space will quickly reach maximum and begin bouncing
mail. If you need to keep a persistent copy of all your mail, we
recommend downloading your mail to your computer via POP protocol -
this way you can keep as much of your old mail as you like, with your
hard drive space being the only limitation.
