What are the different types of Databases and its applications?

I believe this question cannot be covered into FAQs. This is very vast 
topic, and if its broken into pieces, then we can take it one by one 
and solve all questions. The best thing I suggest you is to google it 
first and see what all information you get in first few pages. If you 
still have any questions, then it would be ideal to ask in this FAQ 
community.
