It is the most apparent question that arises in the mind of a shrewd
person who intends to initiate designing or development of a web-
project. As the saying goes, “Well begun is half the job done”. This
is hundred percent applicable for triumphant execution of web projects
as well. Web projects are a culmination of technical and logical
process need a flawless planning and analysis prior to this “well
begun” status. In fact pre-analysis of the whole process, lays a sound
foundation for development of web project.
Analysis of facts is what helps one decide on the key nature of a web
project. This in-depth analysis of web project plays a crucial role in
its designing and development. Firstly capturing the complexity level
of web project is very important as it determines the entire process
and greatly influences the outcome as well. There are a few decisive
points which can be helpful in determining the complexity level of a
web project like:
• Deciding on fundamental 5Ws like what, who, where, when and why of
the prospective web project. Answers of these questions provide a
layout to closely conjecture about complexity or size of web project.
• After these 5Ws, one has to work out on 1H; How. This is going to
hint about the breach between prerequisites of your web project and
the resources available with you.
• Timeline is what can make a complex project simpler or simple
project a complex one. The available time limit is a clear indication
of how complex it is to accomplish this web project within stipulated
time limit.
• Creating a visual map also helps to capture the exact points where
the complexity may crop up, most. This is just like going through an
imaginary process and catching the hot points of project’s
complexity.
• Requirement of security and privacy of web project, during the
process of web project and after the completion of process, are also
major determines of the project’s complexity.
