What is an LMS ?

The full form of LMS is Learning Management System; basically it 
automates the educational system of an organization or institute. All 
daily functions such as; enrollment, payments, content development, 
syllabus allotment, assessments, evaluations etc. are performed on the 
internet or the intranet. 
Any LMS worth its name will; merge training programs on a scalable, low-
cost Web-based platform, gather and deliver learning content speedily 
in multiple languages, evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, 
blend classroom and online learning, consolidate and automate 
administration, provide user-friendly and intuitive screen shots, 
customize content and enable knowledge re-use and most of all it will 
be SCORM compatible.
