Is there a way to call a function when everything but the pics load on a page? I don't want to wait

     Sure, just put a script section at the end of the BODY section of 
your page which executes the desired function:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--//
myFunction();
//-->
</script>
     Keep in mind, though, that a few DOM errors can occur at this 
point because the document has not been completely rendered, yet.
