Do you have a hobby or a particular skill? Have you got time that you
can dedicate to writing about it?
It is possible to make money on the internet but you’ll need to invest
time as well as skill.
At the lowest level you can earn from hosted blogs or sites and at the
an advanced level you can setup your own website and sell goods or
provide information:
1. Get paid for writing
If you’re a beginner or without any experience in building web pages,
you can sign-up to services such as Hubpages.com or
Associatedcontent.com; you write and submit your articles, the host
places adverts on your article and give you a share of the earnings
from those adverts. Your article can be on any subject.
Advantage: you don’t have to promote your articles
Disadvantage: earnings are relatively low since they’re split between
you and the host.
2. Earn with a blog
If you prefer to have more independence, you can sign-up for a freely
hosted blog and sign-up for a Google adsense account. In this case,
you just insert a piece of code into your blog and google will display
adverts that are relevant to your blogs topic.
You can get a free blog from bloggers.com.
Advantage: all earnings are yours
Disadvantage: you have to promote your own blog, which can be a hard
task.
3. Create your own website
If you want more control over design, layout, the types of adverts to
put on your site or indeed wish to sell items, it’s better to set-up
your own website. Annual hosting and domain fees would be around $30.
Advantages: you have more control, you can establish a business, there
is no limit to your potential.
Disadvantages: you will need to invest some money for hosting, you
will need to carryout promotion, you need some knowledge of web
building.
