Has anyone connect to an Oracle server through ODBC? Please How?

Jul 17th, 2000 11:16
Matt Gregory, Antonio J,

This isn't hard at all, provided you understand a few things about
ODBC. First, you need to set up and test your ODBC connection, (DSN
name, server name an location, login information.)
Once you have done this then you also must make sure that the box which
is running PHP is on a Windows box and has odbc installed with the
server DSN setup.
If you have met all of these requirements then you should have no
problems connecting to Oracle through ODBC.
The only thing else is take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself
why you would be using such a crappy connection as ODBC to connect to
Oracle when PHP is nice enough to give you extentions for connecting to
Oracle directly.
