W3C or Word Wide Web Consortium is an international forum which has been
developed with an objective to build a new set of coding standards for
establishing uniformity in the web. This forum is the brainchild of Tim
Berners-Lee at the prestigious MIT Computer Science and Artificial
Intelligence Lab at Florida. The Mission of W3C is to bring up a
universal platform to establish conformity, congruence and compatibility
between web vendors across the globe. Currently, W3C have created 90
standard codes to be followed by the members and associates. These web
code standards and protocols are aimed at ensuring a long-term growth
for the web.
