by the online users. SSL makes sure that the information sent by the
online buyers is not accessed by any unauthorized users. Confidential
information such as credit card details sent through ecommerce site
offering SSL-secured form is fist encrypted using a special “certificate
key” and then decrypted with another key after its transmission. SSL is
the most standard form of encryption which is currently used by many
ecommerce sites. Whether an ecommerce site is SSL-secured can be easily
identified by looking at the browser window which will have a special
symbols in case the site is SSL-secured. Alternatively, any visitor can
also find out by looking at the URL of a site. If the URL beings with
HTTPs then the site is SSL-secured and vice versa.
