Taxi's are available from Delhi to visit the Taj Mahal. If money is not a deciding factor then your hotel should be able to make all the arrangements for you. For those travelling on a budget I would recommend that they not take a taxi from Delhi to go and see the Taj Mahal. The city of Agra where the Taj Mahal is located is approximately 225 kilo meters from Delhi. A five hour drive each way is not easy to take in India. I would recommend that you travel by train from Delhi to see the Taj Mahal. Take the Shatabdi (train number 2002) that leaves Delhi station at 6:15 am and arrives in Agra at 8:07 am. The cost of a first class ticket on this train each way is Indian Rupees 760 only and the price includes breakfast. All Shatabdi trains are air conditioned. On arrival at Agra station you will find a taxi stand as you walk out of the station. Hire a taxi on a flat rate and you will be able to see most of the sites in Agra and the taxi will return you to the station in time to catch the return train to Delhi which leaves Agra station at 8:30 pm and reaches Delhi at 10:40 pm. As for your question of how much a taxi would cost from Delhi to go and see the Taj Mahal. The cost would depend on the type of car you choose. The low end cost would be Rs 2000.
