Traffic in India is impossible to explain. It’s just too fanatical, over crowded and bizarre to portray. The first thing foreign drivers will notice is the honking. In India, people believe that a car has a horn for a reason: to be used and they do use it constantly. Another important thing is that, while there are lines painted on the roads just like on roads in most countries, these lines apparently have no meaning to drivers in India. In ALL major cities of India driving is dreadful, not because of the volume of traffic but due to lack of enforcement of driving in proper lanes in a systematic way.
