Will I gain performance by using the OBJECT tag?
Which method is preferred, using the <OBJECT> tag to "create" the objects rather than the usual Server.CreateObject?

If you may not use the object, the object tag is preferred, because it
doesn't instantiate the object until it is called. (lazy instantiation)
You will gain whatever time it would have taken to instantiate the
object for the pages that turn out not to need it. For many objects this
can be a big savings in time. The browser capabilities component is a
good example of a slow component that is good to avoid instantiating if
possible.
