Is is difficult to install PHP from source on a Virtual Server?

PHP isn't difficult to install, asuming you're on *nix. But most likely 
if you're referring to "virtual server" as a hosting provider, they're 
most likely going to have to install it for you, as you'll need to have 
the keys to the system. (akk root)
