I have redhat 6.0 and have just signed up for cable moden internet access. How do I configure my network card to have dynamically assigned IP address

Just change the value of BOOTPROTO in /etc/sysconfig/network-
scripts/ifcfg-eth? to dhcp(dynamic). i.e.,
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
