Does the browser support images of non-rectangular shapes, if at all they exist?

Jul 18th, 2006 16:31
Keith Freedman, Juergen Thelen, Kirederf, Anil Guntgatti,

If you can do such rounded pictures or special shape picture, just
tell
us which is the software you are using.
The only kind of picture supported are rectangular. You can give some
map rounded shape but you cannot create round picture.
#####
Frederik? You`re aware of transparent GIFs?
Just to play safe, you're not talking about physical, but meaning
optical shapes...
Juergen.

here's a lovely article I found that nicely gives a solution to this
problem:
http://www.bigbaer.com/css_tutorials/css.image.text.wrap.htm
it won't work very nicely with images which change.. ideally one day
we might be able to wrap text based on the outer transparent edge of
photos, but for now, this is a really good solution.
