How can I do permanent sessions or authorization with PHPLIB?

You may be asking for permanent authorization, not sessions.  With that 
in mind, the following is in excerpt out of auth.inc:
  var $lifetime = 15;             ## Max allowed idle time before
                                  ## reauthentication is necessary.
                                  ## If set to 0, auth never expires.
