What editor should I use for creating XML documents?

Nov 21st, 2000 06:55
Michael Claßen,

This depends on your personal preferences for luxury and budget. Since
XML documents are plain text nobody can stop from bringing up your
favorite text editor or even the plain vanilla offerings Windows
Notepad, MacOS SimpleText or Unix xedit. This way you will miss out on
specific functionality for XML documents, such as tag completion,
matching up of opening and closing tags, and DTD validation. Some
programmable text editors such as Emacs offer some extra functionality
through add-ons, and of course there are dedicated commercial offerings
such as XMetal and XMLSpy.
