Cari Sue, Yasser Masood, Shaun Prince,

Which system are you working on? Windows or Unix? If it's Windows then
you may not have installed / configured your SMTP server yet. I am
unsure if this would happen on Unix and under what circumstances ... ?

Aug 6, 2020 >> Sorry, I don't know how this forum works but this answer
wasn't quite what I was looking for. I am having the Very same problem
and I can tell you I am working on Windows. What do you mean
by "installed/configured your SMTP server yet?" I have set my php.ini
to SMTP = mail.earthlink.net and sendmail_from =
carisue1027@earthlink.net. Still, I get an error that says, "Warning:
Server Error in c:\program files\apache
group\apache\htdocs\process2.php on line 33" Is that because my mail
server requires authentication? Or is there something I need to
configure in Apache that I haven't configured? Please help.

OK, I just read something that says, "Note that this means that when
your script tries to use the mail() function, you will need to be
connected to your ISP for the function to succeed."
So, I must be connected to the ISP... Since I'm at work - and not
connected through earthlink right now, is that why it isn't working?
I'm so very confused.

Also, I have read, "You need to install a SMTP server on your Windows
based computer. An
ideal way to do this for testing purposes is to download a freeware
copy from http://www.download.com . I have used ArGoSoft Mail Server
1.00 and it works fine." Is that the route I should be going with this?
