I try to display a word document which is stored in a blob field in a mysql db-I get the document always with binary code pieces-how can I avoid this?

Are there any more binary fragments than usual?  A Microsoft Word 
document does contain binary information.  MySQL is a good partner for 
PHP as their interpretation of strings is pretty much the same (good 
ol' unix), so interchanging data is no big deal.
If that's not your problem, sorry!
