Catalant includes configurable, pre-built applications that provide
out-of-the-box components for building robust network management
capabilities.
These components include: fault management, configuration topology
management, usage accounting, performance management, and security
features (FCAPS).
Using CORBA, Catalant offers interoperability and carrier class
scalability, and provides a rapid application development methodology.
This allows the user to successfully compete in today’s evolving next
generation networking market.
Original Equipment Manufacturers use Catalant to speed product
deployment and decrease development costs. The Catalant system
components include automated scripts, configuration wizards and
templates that allow the user to adjust to market changes without the
need for programming. The power of Catalant provides OEMs the ability
to
include robust network management capabilities with their hardware.
Service Providers use Catalant to implement real-time service related
network management such as integrated fault management, alarms, and
trouble ticketing features. Catalant’s scalability allows Service
Providers to grow at their own rate. The scripting interface allows
CORBA OSS applications instant access to information such as billing
and
provisioning. By using Catalant, Service Providers avoid
becoming software developers and can focus on their core business of
selling communication services.
