Hi, Is there an equivalent of window.innerWidth for IE5.x?

Yes there is:
document.body.offsetWidth
PS: notice that this is not available in the head-section, as it is a 
property of the body!

However:
document.documentElement.offsetWidth
is available in the head section!!
