How do you install OpenLDAP with PHP and Apache?

What version of LDAP is required for PHP compile (it fails with IBM's, cuz undeclared indentifier) ?

You should compile PHP with the following configure flag:
--with-ldap=DIR
Where DIR is where LDAP is installed.
